WHITE SPIRIT TEA
White Spirit is a tea made in Lijiang, Yunnan Province in China, an area culturally dominated by the Naxi minority group.
The name of the tea is derived from the traditional method of tea preparation, where the tea is toasted in a pot clay and then added to the boiling water, creating a crackling sound that symbolizes the fight between the tiger and the dragon. The louder the sound, the happier the people drinking tea will become.
The Naxi are influenced primarily by Tibetan art and the Do religion. Outside of Lijiang, in the Garden of the Gods, one can find large wooden statues, on which the packaging illustrations are based. In addition, the Naxi is the only cultural group with a living pictogram language. The pictograms and the colors in which they are displayed in outdoor art in Lijiang are incorporated in the White Spirit logo and the illustrations.
